Use and Types of Cookies

How to Disable Cookies in Major Browsers

Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer.

   • Modify local data only until the browser is closed.

   • Block third-party cookies and site data.

   • Manage exceptions for certain websites.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Open Mozilla Firefox.

2. Click the menu icon        on the browser toolbar.

3. Select Options.

4. Go to the Privacy panel.

5. Click Show Advanced Settings.

6. In the Privacy section, click Content Settings.

7. In the Tracking section, modify the following cookie settings:

   • Request sites not to track you.

   • Inform sites that you consent to being tracked.

   • Do not communicate any preference regarding data tracking.

8. In the History section, by enabling Use custom settings, you can:

   • Accept third-party cookies (always, from most-visited sites, or never) and store them for a specific period (until they expire, until Firefox closes, or request confirmation each time).

   • Remove stored cookies individually.

1. Open Safari.

2. Click Safari, select Preferences, and go to Privacy.

3. In the Block Cookies section, specify how Safari should accept cookies from websites.

4. To view which sites have stored cookies, click Details.​

1. Open Opera.

2. Click Preferences, then Advanced, and finally Cookies.

3. Choose one of the following options:

   • Accept all cookies.

   • Accept cookies only from the site being visited (third-party cookies from a different domain will be refused).
